This modern home showcases the African masks and wood sculpture collection of the owners. The energy-efficient and low-maintaince home stands in the place of a demolished ranch home, from which materials were salvaged for another project by The Epsten Group. The small and steep site provided a challenge for the honest and well-defined configuration of spaces and building elements. A home office loft overlooks the living and dining rooms. Below, the living areas are illuminated by clerestory windows, offering views to the wooded site. Built-in shelves provided display space for the Henderson's sculpture collection.
