The 4,300 square foot facility has been designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification, utilizing a structural-insulated-panel wall system, high-efficiency HVAC system, water-efficient plumbing fixtures and integrated daylighting. The site was designed using an engineered gravel paving system to reduce the impervious area, as well as bioretention pond to minimize runoff. The project also features a water reclamation system that serves the workshop and vehicle wash-down area, greatly reducing the potable water consumption associated with the Park's daily operations. The exterior incorporates durable, low-maintenance materials, but has been carefully designed to harmonize with the Park's landmark buildings while avoiding a plain utilitarian look typically associated with this type of facility. |
