The Epsten Group advised the owner and design team thoughout the Richard B. Russell Golf Clubhouse's LEED certification. The Clubhouse demonstrates that environmental improvements and a LEED certification are achievable within a typical design and construction process. The site is designed to reduce site disturbance and minimize heat islands. A nearby lake provides irrigation. Additionally, the building's features include daylighting, recycled and local materials, including Elberton granite, healthful interior finishes, and water-saving plumbing fixtures. The Clubhouse features energy-efficient systems and local and recycled materials.
