USC, Columbia, South Carolina

The Thomas Cooper Library Special Collections Addition for the University of South Carolina consists of two additions to two sides of the University's main library. The 72,000 sq. ft. project was designed by Watson Tate Savory Architects of Columbia, SC. Epsten Group provided LEED consulting for the $16 million project, addressing the challenges of creating a very tightly controlled indoor climate for the preservation and museum display of rare books, while allowing for some daylighting to create a pleasant reading environment.
